_DSC0368 And so we did! Last Fall, we had a marvelous time traipsing through the woods and up the mountains to an icy high alpine lake where we could truly be alone in the wild. There is nothing like lying atop of a tall summit and watching the stars come out at night to put everything in perspective. This magical 3 day backpacking trip refreshed and motivated us to return home to the sea and make it happen.

We hiked to the high country Canyon Creek Lakes in the Shasta-Trinity Forest. Check this out! Really beautiful up there! http://www.gorp.com/parks-guide/travel-ta-trinity-alps-wilderness-area-redding-shasta-trinity-national-forests-sidwcmdev_057019.html

Good move getting out of the harbor and up into the mountains ! My initial envy has become more aligned with enthusiasm , and know having seen your earlier foray into the woods,I want to second Caroline’s comment by asking if you’d kindly post the route you pictured today . Enjoy being away exploring, with plenty of head room !
    Chow for now ! Canyon
