Aspen High Country
The Ashcroft settlement was founded in 1879, home to silver prospectors and ladies of loose morals alike… At an elevation of 9500ft we hiked out to the Pine Creek Cook House and after a glass of wine we were all feeling the altitude, its no wonder everyone left! Sprawling fields of Aspen trees blanketed by the winter snow, not a sound but the cold snow crunching beneath our trudging feet, it is a veritable high country winter wonderland. If not for the two horse open slay we may never have made it back down to town.
