Back-roadin’ along the bayou

Some of my favorite driving was done along the Bayou in Mississippi. We succeeded in drifting far enough away from the main highways and wandered through the curving, narrow roads that lined the swamps. It seemed one of the only places where you could escape the homogenous landscape we had encountered thus far and really feel like you were in a new, foreign place. Many people appeared to be living off the grid, fishing, running businesses on their property, hanging around the local crawfish shacks, country style, simple, real life livin’!
