Truckland
After a lovely breakfast of eggs, bagels and tea we hit the road headed for the Smokey Mountains. The first part of our drive was beautiful; we drove through small side roads surrounded by vast open fields scattered with yellow wildflowers and barns, had a stick shift lesson in the historic Little League parking lot and stopped off at a “Wagemans” for lunch. That in and of itself was an experience. We had hoped to simply pass through PA but ended up spending our second night at the Caledonia campground right outside of Gettysburg, feasting on kale, black beans & tortillas for dinner. We woke up early the next morning to hit the road and get out of truckland’ (I forgot to mention how many trucks pass through PA!!!).
